Free Orthodontic Consultations at Midwest Orthodontics
There’s never any requirement or pressure to start treatment. At your free orthodontic consultation, our responsibility to you is to provide you with diagnostics and information about your or your child’s orthodontic health in a way that’s informative and easy to understand, so that you can make the best possible decision.
Free Orthodontic Consultations are easy and consist of these 3 simple steps:
1. Referral & Consultation Appointment: You may have noticed something about your teeth, or your child’s teeth – how they look, feel, or fit together. Or, you may have received a referral from a dentist during a regular check-up. Either way, you can book online or call us for a free consultation appointment. A consultation usually takes about 30 minutes from start to finish.
2. Diagnostics & Assessment: The next step is to take some x-rays of the teeth to review their strength and the support of surrounding bone, as well as a broader image of the skull to review the alignment of the jaw and the teeth in relationship to each other. Our diagnostic and imaging equipment is located on-site, so we’ll have access to your digital records immediately. We may also take photographs to review what impact treatment may have on the face and jaw. Finally, we conduct a review of medical history and a clinical exam to review oral and periodontal (gum) health and assess readiness for orthodontic treatment.
3. Information & Discussion of Treatment Options: Once the diagnostic portion is complete, your orthodontist will sit with you to review their findings. They may recommend orthodontic treatment if it is necessary, and will discuss with you the benefits for obtaining treatment, as well as the possible risks or limitations of the treatment, as well as how long it may take, including active treatment and post-treatment retention. Your orthodontist will review any alternative treatment options, or discuss any additional information about treatments such as appliances, and answer any questions you may have. Once we have provided you with all of the information and you feel comfortable with the diagnosis and treatment options, we can provide you with pricing and financing options to ensure your treatment is budget-friendly.
